Harold Robert MacFarlane “Mac”

Emblem

With heavy hearts, we remember Harold Robert MacFarlane, lovingly known as Mac, who was born on December 4, 1946, and passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025, at the age of 79, surrounded by his family. Mac was born in Washington and spent the majority of his life in Colorado, a place he proudly called home.

Mac was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He served as a gunner on a four-wheel drive V-100 Commando vehicle and as Military Police (MP) at Fort Carson. After his military service, Mac dedicated many years to the United States Postal Service, retiring as a postman known for his reliability and quiet dedication.

Mac found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved fishing, camping, and hunting, but nothing brought him more peace than time spent on Lake McConaughy, drifting in his boat and soaking in the quiet of the day. Above all else, Mac cherished time with his family and friends, creating memories through shared moments and traditions that will be treasured forever.

Mac will be deeply missed as a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, caring brother, and loyal friend. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Eloida; his daughters Shannon (William) of Golden, Beatrice of Arvada, and Michelle (Robb) of Westminster; his brother William (Linda) of Minnesota; and his sister Sharon. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews who will continue to carry his legacy forward.

Mac was preceded in death by his parents, Harold (Lola) MacFarlane and Elaine (Babe) Galow; his brothers Michael and David Schjoll; and his baby boy.

A celebration of Mac’s life will be held at Horan and McConaty, 3101 S. Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood, CO 80227, on January 12, 2026, at 10:30a.m. He will be laid to rest at Fort Logan Cemetery.

Mac’s life was one of service, love, and quiet strength. Though he is no longer with us, his presence will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mac’s name to Colorado Parks and Wildlife https://www.mightycause.com/donate/Colorado-Parks-And-Wildlife
