Guy "Kelly" Housewert

Guy Kelly Housewert, known as Kelly to many passed away on May 28, 2026 at Swedish Hospital of cancer. He was not alone; sister Bette Jo and friend Shirlee were with him as he passed.

Kelly just had his 76th birthday on May 16th, 2026 He was born on May 16th, 1950 in Sycamore, Illinois to Nancy Jane Duncan Housewert and Herbert Nelson Housewert (Kelly). Kelly graduated in 1968 from DeKalb High School in Illinois.

Kelly then joined the Air Force and proudly served for all of us in the Vietnam war.

Kelly spent many of his years after the service living in Windsor, CO

Kelly’s hobbies included cars and trucks. His pride and joys were his 57 Chevy and El Camino. He also had a large collection of Hot Rod cars on display. He also loved sitting in the garage with his friends and neighbors to share stories and have a cold one. Kelly always had a big heart and willing to lend a helping hand to everyone.

Guy “Kelly” is survived by his siblings Bette Jo Housewert, Tami Ann (Art) Fuller and Edmund Muchowski who was just like a son to Kelly. Also, niece Sierra “Emery” Fuller.

Kelly was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Duncan Housewert, father, Herbert Nelson Housewert and several aunts and uncles.

There will be no memorial service. Guy “Kelly” will be laid to rest at a later date at Mound Rest Cemetery in Cortland, Illinois.

A special thank you is extended to the compassionate caregivers at Assured Assisted Living, for the care, kindness, and companionship they provided to Kelly.
