Gregory Washington, age 68, passed away peacefully at Denver Hospice on March 7, 2024.
Greg was born in Harlem, New York on October 20, 1955 to Eddie & Rosalee Washington. When he was a young man, he moved to Dayton, Ohio where he started his career at Grandview Hospital & met the love of his life, Shirley Washington. They married April 12, 1986, and their son Gregory N. Washington was born soon after their union. Shortly after their son was born, they moved to Denver, Colorado. Greg continued his career at Rose Medical Center. He later worked at the Sheraton Hotel as a houseman and banquet server, where he remained for over a decade. He retired from the Sheraton in 2018.
Greg was a man of faith, and he belonged to Hope City Church of Colorado. He was an avid reader, and he particularly enjoyed westerns and mysteries. He enjoyed long drives, and even though he often preferred to be alone, he would often drive his neighbors around to help them get where they needed to go. He was a hard worker and a deep thinker, a quiet soul.
Greg is survived by his wife Shirley, son Greg (Tiffany), daughter Veronica, and siblings Wayne, Anthony, Booker T., David, Lamont, Andre, George, Lisa, Harriet, Gina, and Barbara.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents Eddie & Rosalee Washington, and siblings Eddie Jr., Alvin, Gloria, and Rochelle.
