Gregory J Ryan

Greg Ryan passed away in Denver, CO on March 21 following a lengthy illness. Preceded in death by his father, Gordon E. Ryan, he is survived by his wife, Mari (Zuck) Ryan, and daughters Katherine and Rachel, residing in Littleton, CO. Greg is also survived by his mother, Phyllis (Fitzekam) Ryan, brother Conn Ryan, both of Lakewood, CO; sister Laurie (Ryan) Heath; brother in law Chris Heath; nephews Ryan, Ross and Zachary Heath, niece Madeline Heath (all of Highlands Ranch, CO); numerous aunts and uncles, cousins and loving in-laws. Greg graduated from JK Mullen High School in 1978, having played football, baseball and was on the wrestling team. In Greg's senior year he and his baseball teammates won the Colorado State Championship, with Greg pitching the final game. Greg received an athletic scholarship to play football at the University of Northern Colorado. After suffering an injury, he then accepted a scholarship to play baseball at the University of Denver, where he graduated with a BSBA degree in 1983. After graduation he worked in the finance and mortgage industries until he started his own business, Lakewood Engine & Transmission and later, Ryan Engine Exchange in Denver. Greg was an avid golfer, fisherman and outdoorsman and sports fan. He will be missed by his family and friends for his warm heart, generous spirit, intelligence and sense of humor. Rosary service will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, March 31, Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 E. County Line Road, Centennial, CO. Memorial service is to be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Parish, 8035 S. Quebec St., Centennial, CO at 11:00 am on Friday, April 1, 2016. Interment will be at Littleton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Colorado Academy, c/o Business Office, to establish education funds for Katherine and Rachel.
