Gloria Shea, long-time Aurora resident, passed away April 15, 2025, only 2 months shy of celebrating her 101st birthday. Gloria moved to Aurora in 1951 with her husband Charles, settling in Hoffman Heights, then in Chambers Heights before retiring at Heather Gardens. Gloria enjoyed her career as an RN as well as becoming mother to 6 children. Gloria delighted in singing, listening to opera, gardening, volunteering, traveling, and basking in the warm Colorado sunshine. She outlived nearly everyone she knew, crediting her strong Italian genes and love of the Mediterranean Diet.
Gloria is survived by 6 children, 10 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren, and several grand-pets. Gloria touched the lives of neighbors, parishioners, coworkers, and finally, caregivers, who cherished her sunny and warm demeanor and will never forget the difference she made in this world. Gloria will be buried alongside Charles at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Please consider a donation to Samaritan’s Purse which represents Gloria’s values.
