Gloria Ann Lenz Redkey passed away peacefully on February 5th, 2026, in Parker, Colorado at the age of 92. She was born in 1933 in San Antonio, Texas, to Hilda and Harry Lenz. She and her two brothers, Larry and Floyd, grew up in humble circumstances during the Great Depression. Gloria achieved the honor of graduating as Salutatorian from Brackenridge High School.
Upon graduating from high school, Gloria married Charles Howard Redkey, Jr. in 1951, and they were happily married for 67 years before Charles passed away in 2019.
Gloria was an avid reader and a master at crossword puzzles. She was known to her family as Gigi. Her talents included baking, sewing, needlework, and crafting. She regularly shared these talents with family, friends, and her church. She and her husband enjoyed square dancing, playing bridge, and traveling. Their adventures often included family. As lifelong learners, they traveled often in retirement with Elderhostel.
Gloria is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Floyd Lenz. She is survived by her son Chris (Caren) Redkey, daughter Susan (Jeff) Moeller, grandchildren, Sarah (Michael) Redkey Kittelson, Michael (Heddi) Redkey, Elissa (Robby) Moeller Hudgins, David Moeller, three great grandchildren, Riley Kittelson, Emerson & Rosie Redkey, her brother, Larry (Robin) Lenz, nieces Missy (Paul) Bowling, Kim Lenz, and great nieces Berkleigh & Brooklyn Bowling.
The service for Gloria will be March 16, 2026, at 11:15 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. She will be buried next to her beloved husband Charles Redkey. Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery is located at 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, Texas 78209.
