Gilbert Lopez

Gilbert Lopez, 97, of Westminster passed away on September 30, 2021 at Arvada Care and Rehabilitation Center in Arvada. Born on September 4, 1924 in Colorado he was the son of Federico and Cleofas (Martinez) Lopez. He is preceded in death by his wife, Viola. Gilbert is survived by his children; Marie Salade, Mike Valdez, the late Gilbert Lopez Jr., Steve (Michelle) Sanchez, Tim Lopez, Dale Sanchez, Yvonne (Gilbert) Herrera, and Lavonne Sanchez. He is also survived by numerous siblings, nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren.

Gilbert entered into the Navy in 1943.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 11:00am at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home, 7577 W. 80th Ave. Arvada, CO 80003. Interment with military honors will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 9:15am at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd. Denver, CO 80235.
