Gertrude Darlene Pfannenstiel

Darlene was born and raised in the Denver area with her childhood years spent in the Park Hill neighborhood and summers on the farm in Walker, Kansas. 

Darlene met Del while working at a local bakery in high school and they were married shortly after. They briefly lived in Denver before moving to new Aurora near Del Mar Park. There they raised three children, David, Debbie, and Danny. 

Darlene spent 30 years as an administrative assistant to the principals, all at Virginia Court Elementary in Aurora. 

Darlene loved to travel with her family, later just with Del, and later again with the grandchildren. She loved cruises, the beach, the Caribbean, and foreign countries, having traveled to Europe and Africa several times. 

Darlene loved crafting, sewing, painting, dogs and caring for parents and grandchildren. 

She is survived by her three children David and Lauri Pfannenstiel, Debbie and Jim McMullen and Danny and Stacey Pfannenstiel. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Chantel (Stephen) Maclin, Brent Pfannenstiel, Alex (Andrea) Engelhardt, Mary (Beau) Palmquist, Hannah Engelhardt, John (Danica) McMullen, Patrick McMullen, Finley Pfannenstiel, and Seri Pfannenstiel.
