Gerald Andrew Billinger

Gerald (“Jerry”) Andrew Billinger was born on Sept. 15, 1949, in Denver, and died on May 14, 2024, at his home in Thornton.

Jerry grew up in north Denver, graduating from North High School in 1966. He joined the US Army in August 1969 and was deployed to Vietnam from January to November 1970. During his military service he was recognized with the National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and Vietnam Service Medal with two bronze service stars. He was honorably discharged in 1971.

Jerry Worked for Department of the Army for more than 40 years at both the Rocky Mountain Arsenal in Colorado and the Pine Bluff Arsenal in Arkansas, where he retired in 2010. He met his lifetime love and wife Barbara in 1974, whom he married in 1976. They had their son, Chris, in 1979. Jerry was a quiet and kind soul who cared deeply for his family. He was a member of American Legion Post 161 and enjoyed golf and watching sports.

Jerry is survived by wife, Barbara Jane Hale Billinger and son Chris (Patricia) Billinger. He is preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Luella Moyle Siegfried, father Andrew Florian Billinger, and brother Terry Lee Billinger.

The funeral service will be at Horan & McConaty (9998 Grant St. Thornton, CO 80229) on Friday, May 24. There will be a viewing at 10 am followed by services at 11 am. He will be interred at Fort Logan National Cemetery on Monday, June 3, at 10 am. Please meet at Staging Area B.
