Georgina (Perito) Pavlakovich was born in Denver Colorado on November 10, 1930.
Love of God, family, life, and friends was undisputed with mom's deep, unselfish affection, care and commitment to her faith and all those she touched. LOVE shepherded her life as the matriarch.
Mom, Nana, Gina's life spanned 10 decades: 30's - A sweet Italian girl (Shirley Temple look alike) born to Mike and Ann Perito, a little helper, cooking with mom and gardening with Dad. A precocious daughter, the 3rd in line of 4 included siblings Chuck, Dorothy and Michael and her favorite dog Ginger.
40's - Holy Family High School cheerleader, she excelled in academics making lifelong friends with her "Club Group", playing monthly card games for 50 years. Tennis was her "love" at Columbus Park.
50's - A beautiful bride to Johnny Nick Pavlakovich (nearly 65 years). College studies at Loretto Heights sidetracked, as a full-time waitress to support a future family, as John served in the Korean conflict. Blessed with John (Nancy - deceased; Chandra), Deanna (Steve Hansen), and Marianne (Sherwood Owens).
60's - A nurturing mom and supportive wife suited her. The Very Reverend Father Michael and finally Nicholas (Tara) was embraced in this family of seven, always neatly dressed. 1965 Denver Flood devastated the family, yet Gina and John persevered with rebuilding on $33.00. Never to say "no" she was on the board of Catholic Charities and President of the Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women, a pioneering woman in the Church. Nuns and priests for dinner were a regular occurrence! The Trocadero Ballroom was mom and dad's favorite.
70's - A working girl to further benefit the family, Gina rose to executive assistant to the President at Rockmont Envelope, later Mail - Well Inc. A full-time employee, also cooking, cleaning, laundry, chauffeuring, praying was part of family life. Family was her greatest source of wealth and boy we felt like Rockefellers! Mom said, "no license needed to parent," yet she wrote the test.
80's - As empty nesters it was time for low maintenance life after all the household chores. "Moving on up" to condominium living, life never felt so good. 2 weddings to arrange, how could it get any better? 5 Grandchildren, and a son as a newly ordained priest, Mom was on "cloud nine"! 90's - Mom retired. A death in the family dictated motherly duties cherishing and helping raise 3 of her grandchildren. Another wedding to arrange, 3 more grandchildren ensued. A master baker and cook - potica, cookies, the "death" torte, Sunday fried chicken, red sauce, pasta were all devoured.
00's - Another grandchild, busy coddling, pampering, indulging and cheering for her grandchildren. Reading, knitting, and life with dad were full time pleasures.
10's - Life slowed down, daily mass always a routine. Now 2 more great-grandchildren! Loss of Dad, Mom persevered without her "partner in crime." A sports fan, she became a Patrick Mahomes fan "such a nice boy." 20's - 4 more great grandchildren to love! Diagnosed with cancer 4 years ago mom left it to God with no treatment. God's loving arms embraced her, with rosary in hand, and mom is now in Heaven with Dad.
We were so blessed to have such a positive role model as a wife, mom, nana, great-nana, aunt and friend that exemplified abundant deep faith, love and support. A flower in her hair and a smile were a must. ALWAYS AN OPTIMIST, Mom embodied her "Sentimental Journey." Till we are reunited mom, we will sure miss you. We love you with all our hearts.Georgina (Perito) Pavlakovich, 94 born in Denver, joined her beloved husband of nearly 65 years John Nicholas (Johnny Nick) Pavlakovich in Heaven on October 1, 2025.
