George 'Jon' Setzer, 80, of Littleton, Colorado, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024.

Jon was born in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of George and Jane (Glasgow) Setzer on June 16, 1944. He graduated from Nevada High School in 1962 and was united in marriage to Loretta (Fisher) Thompson in 1982. They relocated to the Boston area in 1989 and to Colorado in 1993.

Jon was an Iowa and Federal Department of Transportation Investigator, and Special Agent with National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. He was a member of the National and Massachusetts Odometer and Title Fraud Enforcement Associations. He was a recipient of the Lance Thomas Award in 1997. 

He will be remembered for his love of people and his ability to have a conversation with anyone.

Jon is survived by his wife Loretta of Littleton; his daughter Brenda (Larry) Johnson; his grandchildren Chase Johnson (Chloe Phannenstiel), and Courtney Johnson (Huy Ngo) all of Littleton; his brother Thomas (Deb Gray) Setzer of Nevada; and nieces and nephews. 

Jon is preceded in death by his parents and infant grandson, Blake Johnson. 

Visitation Friday, August 23, 2024, 1:00-2:00 pm, followed by the Funeral Service at 2:00 pm, Horan & McConaty, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO 80227.
