George Stanley Partington

May 20, 1925 — September 6, 2014

George was born on May 20, 1925 in Denver, Colorado to James Partington and Elizabeth Ellen (Burton) Partington. He passed peacefully from this life on September 6, 2014 in Arvada, Colorado, at the age of 89. George enlisted in the Navy on April 20, 1942, serving on the USS Saratoga during World War II. His military honors included an American Area Campaign, WWII Victory Medal, Purple Heart and Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign medal (8 Stars). George was married to Marilyn on August 30, 1961 in Aurora, Colorado. George was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and sealed to his wife for time and all eternity on September 5, 1967 in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple. He was strong in faith, body and mind. George was a machinist by trade, an entrepreneur and inventor. He loved the Colorado Mountains, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and long drives. George is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Marilyn Geneva (Wing) Partington; daughters, Diane (Bob) Thomas and Deborah (Randy) Allenbaugh; 8 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. George was preceded in death by his son, John Roger Partington. Until we meet again….He will be missed. Memorial with Military Honors will be held on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 10:30 AM, Fort Logan National Cemetery - Area ""B"", 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver, Colorado.
