George M. Mathews
August 4, 1946 — September 18, 2019
George Mathews Jr was a Denver native who, as a retired as nurse, volunteered for homeless charities and was an active member of The Denver Zen Center.
He passed away after a brief fight with cancer.
George is survived by his husband of thirty years James Arroyo, his brothers Chris and Kevin Mathews, his sister-in-law Kaye Mathews and niece and nephew Kelly and Ben Mathews. His parents were the late George Sr and Laurence Mathews.
George's funeral will be at:
The Denver Zen Center
1856 S Columbine St
Denver, CO
November 9, 2019
Ceremony at 2:00 Seating will be limited
Reception to follow at 3:30.
Parking immediately around the Zen Center is only for an hour. Plan on dropping off and parking a couple blocks away.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation in George's name to The Denver Hospice or to The Denver Zen Center.
