George Bradley Marolt, age 76, died peacefully in Aurora, Colorado on August 2, 2021 due to complications from kidney failure.
Born George Bradley Lovato on November 27, 1944 in Denver, Colorado, he lived throughout the Denver Metro area before eventually settling in Aurora. When he was seven years old, his father changed the family name from “Lovato” to “Marolt” in an attempt to avoid racial discrimination. George graduated from Adams City High School in 1964. He was eventually drafted into the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1970.
George worked at the U.S. Postal Service until 2008, retiring after 25 years. He was active at his Buddhist temple where he volunteered for several temple duties.
Survivors include his wife Dung “Denise” Nguyen, niece Kayla Ngo, and nephew Kayden Trinh; son Miguel “Shorty” In Suk Lovato [wife Tara Trujillo] and granddaughter Luciana Soojin Lovato; son Christopher Marolt [wife Brandi Dolan]; brother Ronald Lovato [wife Priscilla Lovato]; and aunts Angie Gutierrez and Ann Delgado. George was preceded in death by his father George Marolt; mother Dayl A. Richards; sisters Tanya Olguin and Dreena Padilla; and brothers Michael Lovato and David Benjamin Lovato.
Buddhist Prayer Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. with Funeral Services starting at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 10th at Horan & McConaty (11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., Aurora, CO 80014).
Burial will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 17th at Fort Logan National Cemetery (4400 W. Kenyon Ave., Denver, CO 80236).
