In Loving Memory of Geneva Kay Smith, who passed away on May 20th, 2023, after sustaining a traumatic brain injury. She was 51 years old. Her family and friends are deeply saddened by her passing.
Geneva is survived by her children Kiera Grewcock and Justin Hassler and her brother Lee J. Collins, Sr. and his wife Kazuyo Collins. Geneva will be forever loved and remembered by her family and many lifelong friends throughout Colorado.
Geneva was predeceased by her parents Alvin and Helen Smith and her sister Kathleen “Kathy” Smith.
Geneva was born in Delta, Colorado. She grew up in Gunnison and graduated from Gunnison High School. After highschool she moved to Durango and Grand Junction and lived in a few places along the Front Range before settling in Lakewood, Colorado.
Geneva loved her children with all her heart and she was a dedicated mother. She was a fun spirited soul who enjoyed drawing, especially flowers. She loved animals, music and traveling.
Her visitation will be held Sunday, May 28, 2023, 11am-1pm with a Celebration of her life following at 1pm. A luncheon reception will follow after the service. All to be held at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S. Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood, Colorado.
Geneva was a beautiful person inside and out. Her smile was so stunning it would light up the whole room and her laughter was always contagious. She cared so deeply for the people around her and was humble, kind, hardworking, persevering, determined, patient and generous. She made an impact on many lives and will be forever missed. Until we meet again.
