Gale Berkeley

“Gale Berkeley (Healy, Heckman), age 73, passed away in her home in Denver, Colorado, on August 9th, 2026, after a two-and-a-half-year struggle with Pancreatic Cancer.

Gale was born to Thelma Heckman (Thomas) and Frank Albert Heckman in Dixon, Illinois, on October 7th, 1952. She received her RN in Indianapolis, IN, and began nursing at KSB, Rockford Memorial Hospital, and Rochelle Hospital, and spent most of her career nursing at Dixon Correctional Center. She enjoyed traveling, live music, Renaissance festivities, volunteering at the Western Stock Show (Denver), and spending time out with her friends.

She is survived by Don Berkeley (husband) and Brian Healy (son). She was preceded in death by Thomas (brother), Thelma (mother), and Frank (father) Heckman.

A small celebration of life will be held for her immediate family and friends in Denver on Friday, August 28, 2026 at 11:00am at Chapel Hill Cemetery (her mother's gravesite).

Gale will be remembered for the compassion and love she shared with everyone who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (Pan-CAN).
