Gail Dunn Stickney, 80, of Aurora, Colorado is now home with our Lord and Savior. Gail passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, August 18, 2015 at her home. Gail was born on June 10, 1935 in Winchendon, MA. She was the second of three children of Edmund B. and Viola B. Dunn. In Springfield, VT on February 23, 1957 she wed her husband Noyes C. Stickney, Jr. They were married for 58 years. Gail was a 1953 graduate of Springfield High School and also attended Mt. Ida College in Newton, MA. She moved with her family to Seneca Falls, New York in 1958, where she lived for nearly 30 years. Gail was a wonderful wife and mother to her three children. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She enjoyed a career employed by GTE Sylvania for approximately 18 years and retired in 1986.She also volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader. In 1987, she and her husband transferred to Findlay, Ohio. While living there, she provided loving care and assistance as a volunteer at the Birchaven Village Senior Assisted Living and Cancer Center. She also enjoyed summertime visits with her grandchildren. After living in Ohio for 19 years, Gail and her husband decided they wanted to relocate closer to their children and grandchildren. In 2006, they moved to Aurora, Colorado. There, Gail enjoyed being actively involved in the lives of her daughter, son-in-law and youngest grandchild. This brought so much joy to her life. Gail is survived by her husband, Noyes Jr. of Aurora, CO, a son Noyes III of Bellevue, NE; a son Brian of St. Petersburg, FL; a daughter Melissa Burkett (Michael) of Highlands Ranch, CO; and brother James Dunn(Sylvia) of Springfield, VT. She is also blessed with four grandsons: David (Noyes) of Dayton, OH; Brian (Noyes) of Bellevue, NE; James (Noyes) of Bellevue NE; Connor (Melissa) of Highlands Ranch, CO and one niece and four nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother Crawford Dunn (Theresa) of Northampton, MA. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 7-8:30 pm at the Horan and McConaty Funeral Home at 5303 East County Line Road, Centennial, CO, 80122. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 28, 2015 beginning at 10 am at Pax Christi Catholic Church at 5761 McArthur Ranch Road, Littleton, CO, 80124. Please join the Stickney family for a reception to celebrate Gail, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers are welcome and may be made in her name to The American Heart Association.
