Fredrick Monroe White

Fredrick Monroe White, age 96, peacefully passed into eternal life February 28th, 2017. He was the husband of Genevieve Rose White for 66 years. Fred was the father of five children: Mary Ramona (John) Ord, Baby John White (deceased at birth), Frank Joseph (Jan) White, Teresa Marie (Tom) Sanctis, Vincent Fredrick (Jacqueline) White. Fred was also the grandfather to thirteen grand children: Regina Ord-Kline, Diana Ord, Cynthia Ord, Thomas Ord, Phil Ord; Jennifer White-Douglas, Jason White; Anthony Sanctis, Andrew Sanctis, David Sanctis, Ann Marie Heideman; Kevin White, Lauren White. Fred was also the great grandfather of seven great grand children. Fred was born on March 27th 1920 in Pueblo, Colorado, to Herbert Phelps White and Marjorie Sharp White. He graduated from East High School, and spent several summers running farm machinery in Maxwell, New Mexico. While attending Regis college, Fred was conscripted into the Army the summer of 1941, then drafted for active duty after the Pearl Harbor attack. He was in the 807th engineering aviation battalion as a heavy machinery engineer. He served with distinction in the Aleutian Islands and in the Battle for Okinawa, and was honorably discharged in the fall of 1945. Fred returned to Colorado and began a farming equipment company. He eventually completed his education at the Wharton Business College. Fred then worked as a salesman for Homelite chain saws. He went on to work with his father as a stock and bond broker in the investment banking business, with Coughlin & Company and Neideger Tucker Bruner. Fred married Genevieve in 1950, after meeting her at the Cathedral Camera Club, where a romance developed in the dark room. They lived in Denver and raised four children. The family enjoyed weekends in Evergreen, family vacations on sales trips, and friendships with international families. Fred enjoyed woodworking, his pride hobby. His lathe creations included wooden plates, bowls, gavels, lamps, and rosary holders. Fred also enjoyed traveling overseas, speaking Spanish, supporting foster children in Mexico, and ""fixing things."" While frugal as a result of growing up in the Great Depression, Fred was always very generous. His family and friends will always remember him as being friendly, funny, creative, loving, caring, and sympathetic. He will be deeply missed by all! A Visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 7 at 5pm, with the Recitation of the Rosary at 7pm, both at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel at 1091 South Colorado Blvd, Denver 80246. A Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, March 8 at 10am at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 2250 South Harrison Street, Denver 80210. There will be a reception immediately following the Funeral Mass at the church. A graveside service will follow the reception at Mount Olivet Cemetery at 2:30pm.
