Frederica C. Gibson

Frederica C. Gibson passed away at her home in Denver, CO after losing her battle with cancer. Frederica C. Gibson was born in Leesburg, VA on September 26, 1928 and shortly thereafter moved with her parents to New Orleans, LA. While there she attended Sacred Heart Academy for elementary school. In her early teens, her family moved back to Loudoun County, VA. She attended the Visitation Academy in Frederick, MD for high school. After high school she lived in Washington, D.C. and worked various jobs while attending nursing school where she got her LPN. In 1952 she married her first husband, James W. Gibson, MD. They had two children. After his death she remarried twice, surviving both husbands. In 2011 she moved to Denver, CO to be near her son. She was preceded in death by her 3 husbands, James W. Gibson, MD, John W. Gibson, and Charles M. Pecora. She is survived by her daughter Frederica Gibson of Dallas, TX, son James W. Gibson, Jr. of Denver, CO, grandson James W. Gibson, III, sister Marguerite Kramer Stearns, nephews Carter Gibson and Henry Kramer, nieces Barbara Ann Baker and Karen Kramer, step-granddaughters Denya Pecora and Shoshana Zha, and great step-grandson Ethan. Frederica was a great hostess and loved to entertain. It wasn't unusual for her to have spur of the moment dinner guests. Holidays were spent at her home with family and friends, eating, drinking and telling stories. She always reminded us to keep our elbows off the table and hat wearing at the table was frowned upon. At the end of each meal while we were clearing the table we always heard her say ""no stacking"". Her home was always decorated for whatever holiday it happened to be. Even the stone foxes outside the front door wore holiday appropriate ribbons and bows. Funeral services will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church at 12:30 PM, March 4, 2017.
