Fred passed away on July 31st after a courageous battle with cancer. His body was just too tired to go on, despite his valiant effort. Fred had numerous medical fights over his lifetime to include a kidney transplant in 2019. Through all those battles Fred always felt blessed, had a positive attitude and a smile. Fred was a wonderful husband, father, Poppy, dog-daddy and friend. He loved the community we live in and was president of the HOA at the time of his passing. He was a musician, playing in bands in Sterling, CO (Leather and Lace) and Aurora, CO (Sunrize and Due West). Fred was inducted into the Colorado Country Music Hall of Fame in 2008. He enjoyed collecting watches, guitars and playing golf, but most of all he loved spending time with his family, watching and participating in his grandchildren’s activities, our traditions, or just playing games brought such joy to his life.
Fred is survived by his wife Pam of 37 years, children Heather (Robert), Dale and Earl and stepchildren Ricci (Zee), Lainey (Martin) and Ryan (Kim); his grandchildren Rachelle, Zerek, Kara, Kaden, Anelle and Saskia and Gibson his beloved gentle, Giant Schnoodle. He is also survived by a sister Lisa, sister-in- law Sandra, adopted sister Laur and numerous nieces, nephews and wonderful friends, all of whom have been wonderful support and part of “Team Fred”. There will be a Celebration of Life at Horan & McConaty at the HeartLight Center, 11150 E Dartmouth Avenue, Aurora CO 80014, August 16th 1PM-3PM.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established at Citywide Bank in Fred’s name for a remembrance bench and tree to be placed in the park at Chateaux of Aurora Park or a donation to your charity of choice.
