A true New York Italian, Frank James Martorella was born in Brooklyn, New York on July 14, 1947. He was born to Gus and Louise Martorella. Gus was a New York City firefighter and Jazz pianist, and Louise was an Italian homemaker and culinary magician, able to make feasts from almost nothing at all. He grew up in a loving home with 4 siblings, Patty, Bobby, Joni, and Paul. He was a bit of a rascal - chasing fun and mischief, tormenting his sisters and creating countless stories and memories. With his best friends Billy and Russell by his side, he grew up street smart, a quality that served him well throughout his life. Frank was an incredibly hard worker and attributed his tremendous work ethic to his humble beginnings and his hard-working parents. He put himself through college at USC before moving back to New York where he met the love of his life, an Irish lass named Erin. Eventually, they had three children - Brian, Katie and Matt and raised them in Denver, Colorado.
Frank built a successful career in the office products industry and truly enjoyed his work. He loved the art of negotiation. As a sales and management executive, he made lifelong friendships and solid relationships with clients, co-workers, and competitors, based on a foundation of mutual respect and admiration. He considered himself lucky to have worked in this industry for almost his entire career - socializing at trade shows, hunting for big wins, and working with friends.
Frank's greatest joys were spending time with family around a big Italian dinner, listening to music, driving his BMW, and the occasional scotch or brandy with friends. Frank enjoyed playing golf, racquetball, and pool. He loved watching college football, spoiling his grand kids and getting coffee with friends and family. Physically strong and even stronger in his principles, he was loyal and dedicated as a friend and provider for his family. Even in his final years, he refused to complain about his health or his pain. He was surrounded by loved ones when he passed and is survived by his adoring sisters and brother, nieces and nephews, three children, five grandkids (so far), and his wife Erin.
