Frank “Leroy” Vigil, age 89, died in Denver on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2025. He was known by his family and friends as Leroy and in his business as Frank. He was born in Guadalupita, New Mexico on June 7, 1936. He resided in Sheridan Colorado, a suburb of Denver.
Frank “Leroy” Vigil grew up in Fort Garland, Colorado and graduated from Sierra Grande High School in 1955. He enlisted in the Air Force upon graduation. He worked as a Barber for 48 years on 8th Avenue in Denver. He also earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.
Frank “Leroy” Vigil married Mary “Evelyn” Gallegos in 1960 and remained with her until her death in 2003. They had four children, Sidney Vigil, Frank (Tish) Vigil, Karyl Vigil, and Adrian Vigil. Frank was the proud grandfather of Makayla Vigil, Madisson Vigil, and Raquel Meza. He also had two surviving sisters Oralia Pacheo and Gertrude Maez. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank Vigil and Maria (Martinez) Vigil, and brothers and sisters, George Vigil, Alfred Vigil, Lupe Lopresti, Gilbert Vigil, Hazel Duran, Dionicio Vigil, Salome Vigil and Denny Vigil.
Frank “Leroy” Vigil was a good man praying the rosary daily and helping whenever and whoever he could. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, watching the Denver Broncos, taking family vacations, and playing cards with his siblings and friends. He was a great dancer. He made a lot of friends and spoke endlessly about the experiences and events that he had with them. He will be remembered for his love of family and friends and he will continue to live in their memories.
A rosary for Frank “Leroy” Vigil will be On December 9, 2025 at 6:30 pm at Holy Name Catholic Church, 3290 W. Milan Ave., Englewood, CO 80110. The funeral mass will be on December 10, 2025 at 9:30 at Holy Name Catholic Church. After mass, a burial service will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery with military honors.
