Frank Jones Jr.

Frank Jones Jr. passed away peacefully in Aurora, Colorado on November 3, 2021.  Born in Baltimore, Maryland on October 8, 1946, Frank was preceded in death by his father Frank Sr., mother Annie Mae Jones (nee Owens), and younger brother Tony.  He is survived by his sons, Corrie (Emily) of London and Ryan (Brian) of Austin, his daughter, Cleo Rauchway (Jon), of Denver, five adoring grandchildren, his sisters Thelma Thomas of Maryland and Linda Turner of Florida, and his former wife, Jan.  He is also survived by loving in-laws, beloved nieces and nephews, and a host of long-time friends.

Frank served honorably in the United States Air Force for over twenty years, earning many commendations, including the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm.  After serving tours in England, the Netherlands, Japan, and Korea, he retired in 1992, whereupon he joined the United States Civil Service, continuing his career in logistics and traffic management.

Frank enjoyed many hobbies, including golf, horse racing, travel, and live music.  Above all, he enjoyed the role of beloved “Poppo” to his grandchildren.  A friend to all, Frank exuded kindness and warmth.  He was loved deeply and will be dearly missed.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday 15th, November at 2pm - Horan & McConaty Chapel - 11150 E Dartmouth Ave, Aurora, 80014
