Frances Michele James-Penick, 70, of Denver, Colorado, entered eternal rest on April 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of family and carried into peace by God’s grace. 

Frances was a woman full of life, joy, and passion. She found happiness in the simple and meaningful moments—especially through her love of sports and music. She was a devoted fan of Prince, whose music often filled her home and reflected her vibrant spirit. Frances spent her career as a flight attendant, a role she truly loved. Through her work, she connected with people from all walks of life, extending kindness, warmth, and a welcoming spirit to everyone she encountered. She embraced the journey of travel just as she embraced life—with grace and openness. 

Above all, Frances cherished her family. She was a loving and devoted mother to her two children, Eric-Paul (Dacy) and Mikel-Claire (Horace), who were the center of her world. Her love extended deeply to her grandchildren, Phil (Katie), Cecily and Cairo and 7 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy. She is also survived by her sister, Kerri, along with a host of extended family members and dear friends. 

Frances’ life was a reflection of love, strength, and quiet faith. She carried herself with a spirit of resilience and compassion, trusting in God through life’s seasons. Though she is no longer with us in body, we find comfort in knowing she is at rest, embraced in God’s loving arms. “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 5:8) 

Frances will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her love, her light, and the lasting impact she made on all who knew her.
