Frances R. Hancock

June 19, 1928 — June 2, 2014

Frances, 85, of Denver, Colorado passed June 2, 2014, with her family at her side. Frances was born in Trinidad, Colorado on June 19, 1928. She married Edgar (Ed) Hancock on January 16, 1949 and they settled in Denver shortly after. Frances worked for Mountain Bell as a Telephone Operator for over 30 years. Frances' family and spending time with them was most important to her in life. She enjoyed cooking for her family and in general, and it was uncommon for a Sunday dinner together to be missed. Second to her family, as many would know, Frances cheered for all of the Colorado sports teams and was a very AVID fan. In her spare time, if a favorite team wasn't playing, Frances enjoyed other activities such crocheting, cross stitch, reading, and of course tending to her gorgeous roses. Frances was preceded in death by her husband in 1985, Edgar (Ed) Hancock. She is survived by her children, Marshall (Cathy), Dean, Brian, & Karen Hancock; sister, Libby Snyder; six grandchildren, Shannon Dettmer (Brad), Melissa Hancock (Daniel Romo), Bryce Hancock (Megan Dighero), Chelsey Hancock, Jacob Hancock & Emma Hancock; & 3 1/2 great grandchildren, Baylei Hancock, Wyatt Dettmer, & Walker Dettmer. Memorial Services honoring Frances will be Monday, June 9, 2014, at 12:30 PM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, in Lakewood, Colorado. A joint committal service for Frances and her late husband, Ed, immediately follows at 2:15 PM at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area ""C"", 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, in Denver, Colorado. Please share memories of Frances and condolences with her family by signing the guestbook at HoranCares.com.
