Frances L Cothren

September 5, 1948 — February 11, 2026

Frances L. Cothren, age 77, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026, in Denver. She was born on September 5, 1948, in Hattiesburg, MS.

Frances spent her early childhood in Hattiesburg before moving at the age of five with her parents and sisters to Pasadena. She was raised in Pasadena and graduated from Sam Rayburn High School. Pasadena remained her home for many years. In the mid-1990s, she moved to Clear Lake for a few years before settling in The Woodlands. In 2024, she relocated to Denver to be closer to her beloved son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

Frances dedicated the majority of her professional career to Chevron Phillips Chemical Company, where she built lasting friendships throughout the oil and gas industry. She was respected and admired for her professionalism, her strong work ethic, and her unmistakable sense of humor. Frances had a rare gift for balancing grace and wit — a classic Southern woman who could deliver a perfectly timed “bless your heart” with charm and a sparkle in her eye.

Family meant everything to Frances. She is survived by her son, Jason, and his wife, Tiffany; her cherished grandchildren, Dylan and Owen; and her sister, Kathy, and Kathy’s husband, John. She treasured her role as mother and grandmother above all else.

Frances also shared a special bond with her closest friends — affectionately known as “The Golden Girls”: Judy, Lisa, and Michele — who brought her endless laughter and companionship over the years. She remained deeply connected to her former boss, Mark, and his wife, Cynthia, who held a very important place in her life. She also valued her longtime friendship with her former neighbors, Nicole and Shaun, and their family.

Frances will be remembered for her warmth, her elegance, her humor, and her ability to make people feel seen and appreciated. She leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, laughter, and Southern charm that will continue to live on in all who knew her.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
