Floyd Clifton Simmons, 96, Northglenn passed away on November 10, 2021. Floyd was born on November 8, 1925, on a farm in Philadelphia, Missouri: however, his birth wasn’t recorded until December 10, 1925, so he had to use that date on his birth certificate instead. He was the son of Ralph and Gladys (Wright) Simmons, sisters Bernadine and Hazel, and brother Russell. Floyd was also preceded in death by his oldest daughter Linda, and great grandson Hunter Clifton Simmons.
Floyd is survived by his daughters Pat Mathers and Janet Robins, and son Richard Simmons and his wife, Kelly, stepdaughter Kathleen Sipes (Chet Christenson), and stepson Charles Kittleson and his wife, Jaimie.
Floyd was blessed with 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Floyd married Katherine Petersen on May 2, 1979, and together they shared 29 years of marriage until her passing in June 2008.
Floyd worked doing Auto Collison Repair and became an Auto Claims Adjuster for State Farm.
He was a lifetime member of the South Denver Masonic Lodge #93. He was actively involved in charitable organizations such as the Shriners.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing Uno, gardening, watching Western movies, crab legs, burritos, margaritas and circus peanuts, and of course - chocolate!!
He will be remembered for his incredible stories, contagious smile, zest for life and how much he loved spending time with this family.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 10:00am Horan & McConaty, 9998 Grant St. Thornton, CO 80229.
