Floyd Sasa, age 80 passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 24, 2023 in Arvada, Colorado, surrounded by his family. Floyd was born August 11, 1943 in Brighton, Colorado and was a graduate of Brighton High School where he played football, baseball and basketball. He earned his BA degree in business education from the University of Northern Colorado. Floyd started a 30 year banking career from which he retired as a Wells Fargo bank president in 2000.
Floyd enjoyed golfing and fly fishing with his friends and loved watching his children play sports. Later in life he became an expert at spending time with his grandkids and spoiling them with ice cream. After retirement, he and Carol traveled all over the world including Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and Italy. His favorite spot to vacation was Kona, Hawaii and you could always find him wearing his Hawaiian shirts. Floyd volunteered for the Rotary Club, was a member of the Board of Directors for the Adams County Economic Development, served as Board Chairman of Metro North Chamber of Commerce, and helped with many community civic foundations and service projects.
Floyd is survived by his brother Paul Sasa (Janet) and sister Phyllis Nakagawa (Bryan), his wife Carol, sons Garrick Sasa (Lisa) and Renick Christopherson (Anna), daughters Courtney Golen (Tim) and Kendra Gothard (David) and 7 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gene and Haruko Sasa and sister Ruby Hada.
Memorial Service will take place on Friday, November 10, 2023 at Storyline Church, 14605 W 64th Ave, Arvada, CO 80004, at 2:30 PM. The family invites all to join with for a reception following the service. Floyd will be laid to rest privately at Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery.
