Florence (Carlson) Zang, age 99, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 22, 2026.

Florence grew up in Nebraska and later made her home in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, where she enjoyed many happy years, wintering in Tucson, Arizona. In later years, she moved to Greenwood Village, Colorado. She married Harold “Pete” Carlson in 1947, and together they were blessed with three children: Kirk, Sheree, and Becky. Widowed at a young age, Florence faithfully raised her children in a loving, God-centered home.

In 1978, Florence married Merlin Zang. Together they shared a joyful life filled with treasured times at the Glenwood pool, square dancing, golf, and fellowship with family and friends.

Florence is lovingly survived by her children, Kirk Carlson (Lyndee) of Lake Tahoe, California; Sheree Johnson (Greg) of LaSalle, Colorado; and Becky May (Dan) of Greenwood Village, Colorado; her brother, Don (Louise); her sister, Marylin; numerous nieces and nephews; and her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with more blessings on the way. She loved each of them deeply and leaves behind a legacy of faith, strength, kindness, and devotion to family.

A funeral service will be held on June 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, 6400 S. University Blvd., Centennial, Colorado 80121. A reception will follow at the home of Dan and Becky May, where Florence resided for the past ten years.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit.
