Felix Edward Andrew

Felix, also affectionately known as ""Phil"" Andrew, passed away, peacefully, at MorningStar Senior Living in Littleton, on March 18, 2017. Phil was born in Denver on November 15, 1926 and was the son of Joseph and Angelina (nee Carosella) Andrew. He was the second of six children and was predeceased by Lawrence and Robert. Phil attended St. Joseph's High School in Denver and entered the U. S. Navy after the start of WWII. Phil was a Navy Corpsman serving, with the Marines, at Camp Pendleton with the 3rd and 5th Marine Divisions. Phil married the love of his life, Dorothy Ann Perito, on April 20, 1943 in Denver. Phil served in the Navy until his discharge on May 14, 1946. Phil and Dorothy started their family in 1944 with the birth of their daughter, Diane. Their daughters, Sandra and Cynthia and son, Dino, soon followed. Phil and Dorothy were lifelong residents of Aurora. Phil was a skilled ironworker and a proud member of Denver's Ironworkers Union Local 24. His ironworker projects took him to many locations in the U. S. and around the world including Egypt. Phil was an avid golfer and played many courses throughout the U. S. Notably, during his golf career he had six holes-in-one. Phil is survived by Dorothy; his brothers, Joseph and George, and sister, Gloria, and children, Diane, Sandra, Cynthia, and Dino. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Phil and his family are grateful for the support of their many friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, March 30 at Light of the World Roman Catholic Church, 10316 W. Bowles Ave., Littleton, CO 80127. A luncheon will follow the Mass at the church. Interment will be held 1:30 pm at the Fort Logan National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a local Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) post.
