Eugene Gene âGenoâ Berthod, Jr. of Thornton passed away on July 28th, 2017 doing what he loved. He was born January 4, 1947 to Mary (Gruden) & Eugene Gene Berthod, Sr. in Leadville, Colorado. The family moved to Wheatridge, Colorado in 1959 for employment of his father with the State Highway Department. Geno graduated from Wheatridge High School in 1965 and went on to attend University of Colorado. After 2 years of college he joined the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam War. After completing his service, he pursued a profession as a Journeyman Carpenter. Later, he was successful in several different professions - car sales, farming, bar owner, and parts manager for construction. His passions were hunting, fishing, playing golf and poker, as well as, many other sporting events. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Geno is survived by his brother, Robert (Candice) Berthod, Edna Roberson of Thornton, his daughter Christie Berthod Baldridge of Oklahoma, his son Mike (Liz) Berthod of Wyoming, granddaughters Ashlyn Baldridge and Sadie (Zeb) Clark, great grandchildren, Quinton, Emberly, and Kash Clark, nephew Brian (Robin) Berthod, niece Jessica (Michael) DiCroce and family, Cherie Berthod of Longmont, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and loving friends. A Veteranâs Memorial Service will be held Monday, August 7th at 1:15 p.m., Ft. Logan National Cemetery located at 4400 West Kenyon Avenue, Denver, Colorado 80236. A celebration of Genoâs life is planned directly following the service at his brotherâs home in Wheatridge, Colorado. For more details please contact the family.
