Ernestine Allen

Ernestine Laubach Allen, Greenwood Village, Colorado, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2023, at the age of 96.

Ernestine (Ernie) was born in Dawson, New Mexico January 20,1927, to Mary and John Laubach.

She was preceded in death by her husband Arnold Robert Allen, her daughter, Wendy Allen Gubits, and brothers James Laubach and John (Jack) Laubach.  She is survived by her sister Angela Slocum.

Ernestine started her family in Sharon, Pennsylvania and moved to Colorado in the early 1970’s where she fell in love with the beauty of the Rocky Mountains.

She was a beloved mother and true matriarch who left a legacy of eight daughters, Deborah Allen Connelly (Michael), Gwynne Lee Allen, Wendy Allen Gubits (Kerry), Linda Allen Acker (David), Jayne Allen Cordes, Susan Allen Hritz (Steve), Nancy Allen Hanson (Jim) and Freda Anne Allen Clifford (Dennis). Ernestine was a loving grandmother to sixteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Ernestine was known for her elegance, generous spirit, and love of family.

Family and close friends will be celebrating Ernestine’s life at a private gathering in Cherry Hills, Colorado.
