Ernest ""Smitty"" Smith, 86, of Lakewood died Sept. 6, 2010. Ernie was ""almost"" a native Coloradan, living only two months in Kansas where he was born. He worked as a meat cutter for the Civil Service for many years at Lowry AFB and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He loved fishing, hunting and golfing. After his wife died, he was active with WOW and enjoyed his friendships with them. He is survived by his daughters, Dianne Steinbacher and Sandee (Gary) Morgan; grandchildren, Todd (Dana) Morgan, Tami (Kerry)Parker, and Heather (Bill) Nash-Law; great grandchildren, Amanda, Lanora, and Katie Steinbacher, MOrgan, Cameron, and Ryan Parker, Jake and Luke Morgan; and sister-in-law, Doris (Henry) Davis. His wife, Edith Mary Shirley Smith, and granddaughter, Angie Morgan preceded him in death. Funeral Service, Monday, 9:30am, Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd. Interment, Fort Logan National Cemetery.
