Ernest A. Witucki

Ernest A Witucki passed away on April 27, 2024 in Lakewood, CO, at the age of 81, after a 2 year battle with a rare and aggressive form of  Scleroderma.  He was born on September 24, 1942 in South Bend, Indiana, to his parents Ernest and Mary Witucki.  He is survived by his beloved wife and soul mate Marsha, three dear children, Suzette (Porter), Stephen and Douglas, seven dear grandchildren and four great grandchildren. 

 He graduated from Washington High School in 1960, and the University of Utah in 1964 with a Bachelor's degree in History and organizational management. He and Marsha were married in 1964.  Ernie was so proud of his Catholic Polish background and upbringing and it was there that he learned to  deeply value friendship and family and traditions.  

He had two brothers Jim and David, who predeceased him, and has a sister Joyce in Salt Lake City.  He is also survived by numerous family relatives in Indiana and Utah.  

Professionally, his goal was to make a big difference by bettering , inspiring, and serving the communities and organizations he worked for.  He loved travel and adventure and was able to fulfill his large bucket list of visiting historical places and to experience every US state except Hawaii.  He had friends everywhere, and always stayed in contact with them, and he never ran out of interests or energy.  He was gregarious and very social, and he loved people.  He said he was deeply grateful and blessed for the life he had. In retirement he spent his time in historical research, and in service with Rotary, the Knights of Columbus, the Jefferson County Historical commission, the Golden Chamber of Commerce and Serra, among others.  He made a difference, and he will be deeply missed, 

A 10 am Rosary and 11 am Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 14, at St Jude Catholic Church in Lakewood, CO.
