Eric W. Schultz

December 1, 1977 — September 24, 2025

Eric W. Schultz, aged 47, passed away way too soon on September 24, 2025, at a Highlands Ranch Hospital after a battle with cancer. He lived in Thornton, Colorado with his wife Kim.

Eric was born on December 1, 1977, to Dale and Joyce Schultz, in Denver, Colorado. He grew up on his family’s farm in La Junta, Colorado where he helped with daily chores such as bailing hay, feeding the cows and fixing fences along with many other duties; this is most likely how he formed his fantastic work ethic and strong sense of responsibility!

He attended Tollgate Elementary School, Cheraw Junior High School and Las Animas High School. In junior high school and high school Eric played football and basketball and participated on the “Knowledge Bowl” team, where he helped them excel. After graduating from high school, Eric moved to Denver, and attended CU at Denver, earning a Business Degree while working at Best Buy and Circuit City. But he found his permanent home at Caliber Collision, where he was a Regional Manager.

In 2000, Eric met Kim Butler through work friends. In 2005, he proposed to her in the ‘World Showcase” in the Epcot Center at Disney World. They were married on August 25, 2006, and they have been inseparable ever since.

Eric was a true American patriot; deeply loving the USA. He was a huge supporter of his many friends and family, especially Kim – helping her train for her marathon in 2009 by riding his bike alongside and always attending every race. He enjoyed cooking on his grill while sipping fine whiskey and prepared almost all their meals. He didn’t like salmon but perfected its preparation because Kim liked it so much! Eric enjoyed car shows, and going to Bandimere Speedway. He was also pretty much willing to do anything Kim wanted to do, such as Halloween haunted houses and corn mazes. He loved Disneyworld. Eric loved dogs and was a ‘dad’ to Sydney, Mia and Layla, and Moose.

Eric was a very hard worker – he was passionate about his job and very loyal; his employees were very important to him.

Eric is survived by his wife Kimberly "Kim" Schultz of Thornton, CO, his father and step-mother Dale and Melba Schultz of La Junta, CO, brother Anson Schultz of La Junta, CO, and Anson’s children, Anson, Jr. (Buddy), Victoria, Mariah, and Angelayna, his sister Dana Schultz of La Junta CO, mother-in-law Sandy Molliconi and her partner Dale Frey, sister-in-law Tara Seay and her husband Justin Seay, nephew Mason Joseph Wooten and niece Abigail Louise Seay. Also survived by grandmother-in-law Carol Molliconi, numerous uncles, aunts and cousins on both sides of the family, and father-in-law Joe Butler.

Preceded in death by his mother Joyce Schultz and grandparents Margaret and Dallas Schultz and grandfather-in-law Louis Molliconi.

It’s impossible to put into words how much we all loved Eric, and how much we will miss him. He was one of the good guys!
