Emmett Cyril Rilinger

Emmett Cyril Rilinger, 80, died at St. Francis Medical Center, Colorado Springs on January 21, 2020.

Emmett was born on May 25, 1939 in Seneca, Kansas. He has lived in Lincoln, Nebraska; Aurora, Colorado; and Parker, Colorado.

Mr. Rilinger worked at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center and Information Handling Services. His main occupation was at the Colorado Department of Health as a Senior Systems Analyst. After retirement, he worked for United Airlines at Denver International Airport until his second retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Marian (Robinsky) Rilinger; children Ryan Rilinger of Parker, CO, Rhonda Rilinger of Floral City, FL and and Rodney Rilinger of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Trenton Rilinger of Highlands Ranch, CO, and Gavin Rilinger of Highlands Ranch; Siblings Sister Dorothy Marie and Sister Jean Marian with the Sisters of Charity, Leavenworth, Kansas and Ann Ruefer of Davenport, IA.

Emmett was preceded in death by seven brothers Melvin, Albert, Aloysius, Edgar, George, Jr., Paul and Raymond.

Emmett served in the U.S Air Force, his overseas tour was in Morocco. Emmett was a family man. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren so very much. He enjoyed get-togethers with family and friends. He also loved traveling. Emmett and Marian had yearly visits to a beach house on Lake Michigan with dear friends who are considered just like family. He had the opportunity to travel to many U.S. states and also Spain, Italy and France. He especially enjoyed going on cruises. He experienced what the Caribbean Islands were like several times. He was a true Broncos fan, and never missed a game. Emmett has always had a very strong belief in God. He knew that all his many blessings were a gift from God.

He was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church.

Visitation Thursday, January 30, 2020 from 6-8 p.m., with Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Horan & McConaty, 5303 E. County Line Road, Centennial. Funeral Mass Friday January 31, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church, 18000 E. Arapahoe Rd. Foxfield, CO 80016. Burial will follow in St. Simeon Catholic Cemetery. A reception will follow the graveside service, and will be announced.
