Elizabeth Diane Quinones-Vargas, age 65, of Denver, Colorado, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026.
Elizabeth was born on July 30, 1960, in Denver, Colorado, to Rudolph Ornelas and Phyllis Montoya. She was known for her generosity, kind heart, and willingness to help anyone in need. If she had something to give, she gave it freely. Her love for family and friends was endless, and she touched the lives of many through her compassion, strength, and caring spirit.
Elizabeth deeply loved her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family. She found joy in dancing, attending concerts, watching plays and movies, swimming, relaxing in hot springs, visiting casinos, listening to music, attending music festivals, camping, and spending time with loved ones. She cherished cooking for Bronco games while gathering with family and friends to cheer on her favorite team. More than anything, Elizabeth loved helping others whenever she could and always made those around her feel welcomed and loved.
She is survived by her children: Jake Ornelas, Phyllis Loya, Leah Sanchez, Louise Uribe, Basilisa Quinones, Ramona Granillo, David Granillo, Socorro Granillo, JulieRae Quine, Dayumi Espinosa-Quinones, and Elizabeth Vargas-Quinones.
Elizabeth was blessed with a large and loving family, including 20 granddaughters, 15 grandsons, 5 great-granddaughters, and 4 great-grandsons.
She is also survived by her siblings: Rudy Ornelas, Johnny Ornelas Sr., Ernie Ornelas, Louise Cortez, and Julie Montoya. As well as her step father Larry Montoya.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her father, Rudolph Ornelas; her husband, Guillermo Quinones Sr.; her son, Guillermo Quinones; and her brothers, Thomas Ornelas and James Ornelas.
A memorial service will be held on June 10, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Horan & McConaty, 3101 S. Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood, Colorado 80227.
Burial services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery, 12801 W. 44th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, Colorado 80033.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Richards-Hart Estate, West 28th Avenue and Benton Street, Wheat Ridge, Colorado 80033.
Flowers may be sent to Horan & McConaty, 3101 S. Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood, Colorado 80227.
Elizabeth will be remembered for her loving heart, generous spirit, and the joy she brought to everyone around her. Her memory will live on through the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
