Elizabeth “Libby” Gail Mulhall, 55, of Santa Fe, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and friends, following a courageous battle with acute leukemia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret (Sargeant) and Paul Mulhall, and is survived by her devoted husband, Luke Ayres, and a community of deeply grateful friends.

Libby was born in Harrogate, England, and emigrated to the United States in her early twenties. Her journey eventually led her to Santa Fe, where she discovered her true calling in nursing. A dedicated lifelong learner, Libby earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of New Mexico. She spent years on the front lines of patient care, serving as a registered nurse in the Emergency Department and later as a Nursing Supervisor at Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center.

Driven by a desire to do even more for her community, Libby advanced her career by earning a Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University. As a Nurse Practitioner at Caskey Medical Group, Libby truly excelled. She was deeply passionate about her work, loved her patients fiercely, and worked tirelessly to ensure everyone under her care felt seen, heard, and healed. Her legacy of compassion will live on in the countless lives she touched.

Beyond her professional life, Libby embraced the beauty of her adopted home. She cherished sharing the outdoors with Luke, embracing everything the Southwest has to offer through camping, hiking, and fishing. She was an avid runner who cherished the peace of early morning runs with her beloved dogs. Libby also held a deep affection for her British roots, never turning down a proper cup of tea, Marmite toast, a traditional Sunday roast, or a good British mystery on television. Guided by a strong and enduring faith, she was also a deeply dedicated member of St. Bede’s Episcopal Church.

A celebration of life service will be held on October 17, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at St. Bede’s Episcopal Church (Santa Fe, New Mexico), with a reception to follow immediately after the service.
