Elinor ""Ellie"" Williams

September 14, 1932 — April 3, 2017

Elinor ""Ellie"" Williams, 84, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2017 at her home in Northglenn. She was born at her grandmother's home in Denver on September 14, 1932 to Thomas and Hazel Bowden. She was a second generation Coloradoan. Elinor attended elementary and junior high school in Denver and graduated from West High School in 1951. She then attended business school, specializing in business machines. Elinor married Les Williams on September 25, 1952. In their younger years, Les and Elinor were members of a square and round dancing club where she enjoyed the ""come as you are"" pancake breakfasts, the spaghetti suppers, and many other activities of the group. For years, she was a loving foster mother in Adams County to many babies, caring for each until adopted by their family. Later, Elinor ""Ellie"" worked in school food service for School District 12. In retirement, she enjoyed ship cruises and monthly gambling trips on the bus to Blackhawk. Throughout her life, she enjoyed a number of crafts and hobbies including ceramics, ""bedazzling"" anything in her path, making Christmas tree decorations from kits, coloring detailed designed books, and endless word search puzzles. Elinor is survived by her husband Les, son LeRoy(Carol), daughters Kathy Robinson and Rene' Maupin. Four cherished grandchildren, Derrick, Nate, Kara, and Catelyn and two great-grandsons. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and sister-in-law. She was preceded in death by her loving sister, Betty Gorman and sons-in-law Rob Robinson and Will Maupin. Dearly loved and will be sorely missed. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 13, 10:30AM at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 9998 Grant Street, Thornton, Colorado. Interment will follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
