Eileen Whitmore

June 15, 1942 — December 25, 2025

Littleton

Our beloved Polish Princess Eileen Whitmore, of Littleton, Colorado, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, at the age of 83 years young. She was attended by her niece Shari Allsup at the time of her passing.

Eileen was born and raised in Beaver Falls, PA to parents Michael and Bernice Tatko. She grew up with one sister, Dorothy and her brother, Michael. Soon after graduation, she developed her love of travel as a stewardess for American Airlines. It was during this time that she met her best friend, Jan Ruess and they remained friends for nearly 64 years.

Eileen met the love of her life, Barrie Whitmore, when they both worked at Westinghouse. Once they married, they called home to various states including Pennsylvania, Michigan (where their son Bryan was born), Kansas City, New Hampshire and settled down in Barrie’s state of Colorado upon his retirement. Wherever she went, she was quick to make friends; she could be in a room of ten strangers and leave with ten friends. Eileen loved to travel and almost every destination included a beach where she could find sea shells and sea glass to add to her collection. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos (thanks to Barrie) fan and fan of basketball, especially the Denver Nuggets. She loved to bargain shop and never met a thrift store she did not like. Eileen loved to dance and enjoyed music from the 50’s as well as music by Lionel Richie. Throughout her life she devoted herself to her family, friends, community, and church. Eileen will be remembered for her kindness, strength, humor, and the warmth she brought to everyone who knew her. She found great joy in her community and faith, and her generosity and compassion touched many lives.

Eileen is preceded in death by loved ones with whom she is now reunited in Heaven, including her beloved husband of over 40 years, Barrie, her parents, as well as numerous family members and In-Laws.

She is survived by her son Bryan Whitmore, Detroit, MI, sister Dorothy Lillard, Rancho Mirage, CA, brother Michael Tatko (Janet) New Brighton, PA, best friend Jan Ruess, beloved dog Angel Grace and many nieces, nephews, and their children. Her family will forever cherish the memories of holidays, celebrations, and everyday moments shared together.
