Edwina Walsh

March 4, 1949 — August 8, 2016

Edwina ""Windy"" Walsh passed away peacefully at her home in Aurora, Colorado. Edwina was born March 4, 1949 in Denver, Colorado, the third of six children to Bill and Edna Walsh. She will always be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, infectious laugh and love for her sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Edwina made it a point to remember and honor the birthdays of loved ones by sending ""happy"" cards and notes – always wishing the best for those she loved. Edwina grew up in east Denver and attended parochial schools, graduating from Cathedral High School in 1968. She immediately joined the work force and was employed by various companies until the economic downturn of the mid 2000's. After 30 years of constant employment, but unable to locate further work because of economic conditions, Edwina retired in Aurora, Colorado where she had made her home for several decades. Although she never married and had no children, family was very important to Edwina. When her health permitted, she would attend family picnics and parties and was always interested in what was happening in the lives of her immediate and extended family. One of Edwina's great concerns was for the U.S. Military. She actively volunteered for the U.S.O. in Denver. A devout Catholic, faith was Edwina's anchor in life and saw her through all the challenges she faced. Edwina is survived by her sisters, Barbara (and Jim) Bray; Patricia (and Dick) Mullins; and her brothers, Timothy (and Julie) Walsh; Thomas Walsh and Terry (and Phyllis) Walsh, along with many nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held on August 12th, 2016 at St. Isadore the Farmer Roman Catholic Church, 32100 E. Colfax Svc Road, Watkins, CO 80137 at 11:00 am. In lieu of gifts, contributions may be made to Rescue Christians at FFMU 2110 South Eagle Road # 310 Newtown, PA 81940 or at http://rescuechristians.org/purchasedonate/ .
