Edwin Nels Pietila, Jr.

Edwin Nels Pietila Jr age 66 years, peacefully went to be with the Lord on April 26, 2015. Edwin was born on July 11, 1948 in Park Rapids MN to Edwin Nels Pietila and Thelma Makinen Pietila. Edwin graduated from Menahga High School in 1966. He attended Wadena Technical School and started his career working for IBM. He was a proud Storage Tek employee with 41 years of service. Edwin married Myra Rose White Blair on September 18th 1985. Edwin was a very loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather He enjoyed traveling the world, spending time with family, taking care of his yard and Nascar. Edwin will be lovingly remembered by his wife Myra Rose Pietila of Arvada, CO; daughter Myra Jane (Rick) Schatzman of North Pekin, IL; four grandsons, Lukas Edwin Bolen of Springfield, IL, John Ross and Bailey Lee Curtis of East Peoria, IL and Zander Talmich Schatzman of North Pekin, IL; one Granddaughter Alexis Marie Curtis of East Peoria, IL; three sisters, Evelyn (Fred) Komppa of Kinney, MN; Irene Neal of Minneapolis, MN and Beverley of Minneapolis, MN; two brothers Rodney (Robin) Pietila of Sauk Rapids, MN and Willard Pietila of Menahga; father in Law Clifford (Wilma) White of Pekin, IL; Brother in law Clifford (Carol) White of Pima, AZ; four nephews; four nieces, Aunts, Uncles, other relatives, special neighbors and friends. Edwin was preceded in death by his parents mother Thelma in 2004, father Edwin in 2013 and daughter Michelle Dawn Blair Curtis in 2014 and mother in law Rose White in 2007. A Colorado service will be held Tuesday April 28th starting at 6:00 pm. Visitation will proceed from 4pm to 6pm and a reception will follow. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday May 2nd at the New Liberty Southern Missionary Baptist Church in Morgantown (Gilstrap) Kentucky. Interment will follow in the church's cemetery.
