Edward Ortiz Jr., 91, of Thornton passed away on November 17, 2020 at North Suburban Medical Center. Born on March 24, 1929 in Capulin, CO he was the son of Edward Sr. and Sarah (Vigil) Ortiz. Edward married Kazuko Shiroma in August of 1962 and together they shared 58 years of marriage.
Edward served for the Army and Air Force until 1969. Where he had been honorably discharged. He worked at Gates Rubber Company until he couldn’t work anymore.
He enjoyed being with family and friends. He did his best at raising his three kids and being a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed fishing; getting out to different lakes or rivers any chance he could get.
He will be remembered for his honesty, integrity, patriotism and work ethic. Always had a caring heart and was willing to help others.
In addition to his wife, Kazuko he is survived by his son and two daughters, Mike Higa, Karen Ortiz and Bianca Meissner, grandchildren: Lucas, Easton, Lydia Higa and Leilani Delacruz, great grandfather to Naia Higa.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, November 27, 2020 at 9:00 AM with a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 4200 Federal Blvd. Denver, CO 80211.
