Edward T. Gardiner

October 31, 1929 — November 7, 2015

Edward T. Gardiner, 86, of Aurora, CO passed away November 7, 2015. Edward served in the New York State Guard during World War II and then served in the United States Air Force for 23+ years (AFTAC). He retired from the Air Force in 1970 and went on to have a career in real estate; owning two successful companies. He continued to sell real estate until his late 70's, when he retired to enjoy time with his family. Edward was deeply committed to his children, grandkids and extended family. He will be remembered for his quick wit, generosity, conservative values, integrity and loyalty. During the time spent with his family, they enjoyed his daily presence and humor. Edward is deeply loved and his absence is felt by all who loved him. He was preceded in death by his father, James Gardiner; mother, Anna Gardiner; brother, James Gardiner; and nephew, Michael Carey. Survivors include his son, James Gardiner; daughter, Trish Gardiner & son-in-law, Randy Schwartz; grandkids, Christopher Shearn, Brehonna Newton, Alexander Newton, Ryan Schwartz, Shela Newton, Robert Newton and Matthew Newton; sisters, Nancy Carey & Mary Timoney; nieces & nephews, Tim Carey, John Carey, Barbara Carey, Jeanie Carey, Bill Timoney, Maureen Timoney, Michael Timoney, Bob Timoney, Eric Deininger, Robert Deininger, Gregg Wittenberg, Debie Drew and Kim Wittenberg. Memorial Services for Edward will be held on November 24, 2015 at 12:30 pm at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd. Lakewood, CO 80227. Interment will follow at 2:30 pm at Fort Logan National Cemetery. The family will then receive guests for a reception following the interment at the Beacon Point Clubhouse, 26011 E. Orchard Dr. Aurora, CO 80016.
