Edie Vigil passed away in her home full of family on Saturday, the fourth of May. She was the sixth of seven sisters who grew up on a farm near the small town of Gilcrest Colorado. The seven "Pritchard Girls" were a tight-knit bunch that loved and supported each other throughout their lives. Edie became a Registered Nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles in the early 1950s and graduated from of the second class of Nurse Practitioners from the University of Colorado in the late 1960s. She served as a School Nurse Practitioner in the Denver Public Schools for 25 years, retiring in the early 90s.
Edie was the last survivor of her sisters. She passed their legacy of love to those she served in her nursing profession and to her own family which included her husband Joe Vigil, her daughters Dona and Vona Lyon, her sons Phillip Vigil and Kevin Lyon, her grandchildren, David Lyon, Alissa Vigil, Alex Vigil, Joe Vigil, Ivan Camacho, Cesar Camacho, Rachel Vigil, Nick Vigil and Cassandra Camacho, and her great grandchildren Skyler Lyon and Sylas Lyon.
She is survived by Phillip and Kevin and all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is remembered for her radiant smile and her kindness. She will be missed by family and friends alike. Edie lived a full and joyful life of more than 94 years. Her life will be celebrated at Holy Family Church on Thursday, June 6th. The Rosary will be at 9:15 a.m. and the Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Interment will be on Friday, June 7th at the Mizpah Cemetery in Platteville, Colorado.
