Dr. Martin Shure of Lone Tree, Colorado, passed away on April 21, 2021 at the age of 73. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 13, 1947. Martin attended South Shore High School in Chicago, earned his bachelor's degree, majoring in Geology, at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and a Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Upon completing his residency in 1975, Marty traveled to Colorado, fell in love with the Rocky Mountains and decided to make Denver his home. While practicing in Emergency Medicine at St. Lukes Medical Center he started his own internal medicine practice. In 1982 he founded Midtown Occupational Health Services in Denver and worked in Occupational Medicine while growing his practice until he retired in 2014.
Marty enjoyed many outdoor activities including backpacking, hiking, whitewater rafting and skiing. Most of all, he never missed an opportunity to jump into a frigid stream or lake for a quick swim. Marty enjoyed traveling but Las Vegas was his favorite destination where he was able to hone his skills in Black Jack. In recent years he enjoyed the simple pleasures of a good movie, a leisurely meal out or a long walk with his dog.
Marty was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Betty Fish. He is survived by his wife Connie, his son Michael, his daughter-in-law Heather and his grandson Brody. He is also survived by two stepsons Kelly and Dustin, three additional grandchildren and his nephews Bradley and David.
