Douglass Thomas Covington
January 6th, 1931 – November 9th, 2022
Doug was born to Lucille and Sanford Covington. Preceded in death by Wife Nancee Covington Locke, daughter Tracy Jean Haffner. Survived by Wife Fran Covington, siblings Jean Tabor and George Covington, Sons Tim and Mike Covington, Many nieces, nephews, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
Doug graduated from East high school, class of 1949, where he was a member of the All-State swimming team. Enlisted in the U.S. Navy, January 10th 1951- October 29, 1953 as a Radioman. Sailed aboard the U.S.S. Fletcher DDE 445, Destroyer. Doug was a true “Tin Can Sailer”.
Doug studied Engineering at the University of Colorado. Went to work at Martin Hydrogen Research. Followed up working with Taylor Instrument Company, Process Control Division working in the mining industry as a Senior Account Manager. Soon promoted to Distric Manager and finally to Regional Sales Manager in San Leandro, Ca.
In 1995, Doug finally retired to advance to his most passionate position, as a Starter at South Suburban Golf course for the next 23 years! He could read a green better than most!
Memorial services will be held at Horan and McConaty, December 6th, 10:30 A.M. 5303 E. County Line road, Centennial, Co 80122
