Douglas Bollman

May 24, 1948 — February 13, 2022

Douglas Earl Bollman, age 73, passed away at St. Anthony North Hospital on Sunday, February 13, 2022 surrounded by the love of his family.

Born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Dorothy and Henry Bollman, the family moved to Denver in 1950 where Doug lived the rest of his life except for a brief stint his family spent in Washington D.C.  He was the fourth out of five children and is survived by siblings Diane Fichter, Dave Bollman and Debbie Strickland. He was preceded in death by his eldest brother, Henry Bollman in 2012.

Doug graduated from Thornton High School in 1966. His claim to fame at the time was a modelling job, where he starred in a car ad, filmed on Pikes Peak. Doug attended Colorado State University and received his Bachelor’s degree in 1970.

He was married to Jere Mariucci (Duran) in 1970 for 15 years and they had two children: Ingrid Clayton and Josh Bollman. Ingrid is married to Yancey Clayton and they have one son, Henry Douglas Clayton (6), named after his grandfather and great-grandfather.

Doug married Allesandrina (Sandy) Baldelli in 1989. They were married for 33 years. Doug was a loving husband and stepfather to her three children David Lynch, Terri Johnston and Eddie Radiel and grandfather to their children: Michael Lynch (33), Connor Johnston (18), Anna Radiel (16), Bella Johnston (12) and Roman Radiel (8 months) who all loved their “Papa” very much.

A loyal salesman, Doug worked at Western Interior Supply for over 25 years where he formed friendships with his long-time customers over weekly breakfast burritos.

A sarcastic sense of humor till the end, Doug would couple his friendly jabs with equally heartfelt compliments and curiosity. He loved music—to dance and sing, things he did up until his very last days. His only regret in life was likely that he lost almost all of his hair and that what was left turned gray.

Doug appreciated nature, spending time in Estes Park, travelling to beautiful beaches like the Bahamas with his wife Sandy, riding bikes and doing pilates. He had a great love of golf and spent many hours with friends and family on the course. He smiled with his whole body, making sure you smiled with him, and just loved having a good time.
