Dorothy Mae Lee-Adams

Dorothy Mae Lee-Adams, 95, of Troy formerly of Littleton, Colorado passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at Lincoln County Nursing and Rehab in Troy.

She was born on February 16, 1930 in Compton, Illinois, the daughter of Earl and Alice (Masters) Bettner, who preceded her in death. She was united in marriage on October 16, 1948 to E.A. “Bud” Lee. Unto this union, three children were born. As time passed, Bud and Dorothy drifted apart and separated on February 10, 1980. Dorothy found love again and was united in marriage to Ardell Adams on August 15, 1992 in Littleton, Colorado, who preceded her in death on October 8, 2011.

Dorothy was a graduate of Lee Center High School in Illinois and later worked for Sears as a Sales Associate for over 25 years. She and Ardell loved going on many extensive travels throughout this world from the Far East to the Land Down Under, they spent time going on adventures and making memories together. However, no matter the places they traveled, Dorothy never wavered in her most important job of being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She guided her family with fierce love and devotion.

She is survived by her children: Rick Lee of Neosho, Missouri, Butch (Cathy) Lee of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Carol (Keith) Schultz of Troy, Missouri, and; 5 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her brothers: Bob Bettner and Wayne Bettner and one sister: Clara Otey.

Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home, 5303 E. County Line Road, Centennial, Colorado 80122. Ph: (303) 221-0030. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at Horan & McConaty. Interment will be private at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
