Dorothy Lee Krob was born January 18, 1925 on a farm southwest of Helena, OK to Worthy and Grace Freed Peck. She spent all of her childhood days on this farm and always enjoyed the outdoors. She recalls many days of fun riding their family pony and playing with her sisters. She attended Cheney Dell country grade school for 8 years and graduated from Helena High School in 1942. Her favorite sport was basketball which continued all her life. She was a great fan of the Denver 'Nuggets' team. She graduated from the University of Northern Oklahoma and pursued many more credits of higher education including D. U. and Greeley.
On August 4, 1946 she was married to Leslie M. Krob at her childhood farm home. To this union 2 sons Scotty and Gregory were born.
Dorothy Lee was an elementary teacher in Oklahoma, Kansas and finished with 27 years in the Denver Public Schools. She retired in 1987. Her church affiliation was in the Church of the Nazarene where she was a very active member. She, with her family, became members of University Park Methodist Church and later transferred to Grace United Methodist Church where she was active in the U. M. W., a Sunday School teacher and a coordinator of the Church Prayer Chain.
She enjoyed reading, hiking, exercising and playing games, especially bridge. She and her husband played as partners in bridge tournaments. Square dancing was a hobby that she and her husband did with the Classics Exhibition square dance group and entertained at many nursing home facilities. She was a family person. She loved her two sons and their families—being very proud of all of them. She always enjoyed getting together with them for meals or traveling with them. She was kind, generous and had a ready smile for everyone.
After retirement, she and her husband moved from their home in southeast Denver to the retirement home in Heather Gardens where they lived for 19 years. They loved every moment at Heather Gardens. They were active in most all of their classes and made many new friends. In 2010 they moved to Holly Creek where she resided until her death.
She is survived by her sister-in-law Winnie Fay Melrose of Enid OK; 2 sons Gregory O. Krob (Laura) of Brush, CO.; Scotty P. Krob (Jan) of Greenwood Village, CO.; five grandsons, Neil Krob (Karen) of Aztec, NM ; Alan Krob (Missy) of Brush, CO.; and 3 grandsons from the Denver area, Daniel Krob; Matthew Krob (Tricia); & Nathan Krob (Marni). There are seven great grandsons - Alexander, Dylan, Milo and Caden Krob from Brush, CO; Tristan, Zachary, and Coby Krob from the Denver area. There are two great granddaughters Madison and Kaia Krob, also from the Denver area. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Leslie; parents - Worthy and Grace Peck; her 3 sisters Frances Melrose, Betty Lou Krob and Shirley Simpson Holler.
Dorothy Lee went to meet her Savior on January 24, 2021, at Holly Creek. A celebration of her life will be held at Horan & McConaty Mortuary on February 19 at 5:00 p.m. Dorothy's service will be streamed live for guests that are unable to attended in person, please see link below to view live stream.
Internment will be at Good Hope Cemetery, Helena, Oklahoma.
